Indesinence

Indesinence are a death/doom band i discovered just last week, and man.. it was love at first sight. And i've been listening the whole album in loop since then. It just makes me think of the vastness of bands that surely would please my ears that are buried out there. Whether the band is old or new i don't care, what i care is that "Neptunian" is one hell of a release. For those who don't know Indesinence features current and past members of bands such as Grave Miasma, Adorior, Esoteric, Pantheist and Cruciamentum. "Neptunian" delivers around 42 minutes of crushing heaviness and brooding, gloomy sombre atmospheres. I've read that this is a "must have" for any fans of Unholy, Evoken and dISEMBOWELMENT! So check them out. Buy this here or here.

Rebirth Of Nefast

Rebirth Of Nefast captures the glare of death staring into your soul. It is the black smoke that fills your lungs, the glowing eye of the Void. Seemingly appearing from nowhere, "Only Death" is the debut release from this enigmatic lone soul and its the most creeping Demo i've heard. Tormented vocals, twisted chord structures and unique composition - combined with a powerful, organic production - results in a truly unique offering. A surreal atmosphere permeates the three generous acclamations, snuffing out the last flickers of life and inviting death's cold embrace. This is a one man project by the nefast Wann who also is the mind behind Haud Mundus and was involved in the awesome Wormlust. Buy it here. This is truly haunting. Recommended!

Raw Radar War

Yesterday, while i was doing my daily night ritual, that is "arranging/cleaning" my iTunes library i came across this band/album.. and almost forgot how good it is. Raw Radar War deliver the true gritty, nihilistic punk thrash on their debut "Double Equals". Raw Radar War take the gnarled street vibe of crusty hardcore and thrash and mix it with some elements of sludge to reinforce the tar-black urban feel of this album. Unrestrained shouting, bulldozing riffs, and pummeling drums drive "Double Equals" through its psychopathic journey, leaving no hope in sight even at the end. I've always loved really primal, aggressive music without frills, and that's the epitome of what this about is about.

The first three tracks on the album, all less than a minute long, pummel without abandon in pure heavy fashion, before Jerry's Kid's "Crucify Me" version kicks in with shit-storming riffs that utilize classic punk chord progressions and an awesome shouting chorus. Before exploding into another raging thrasher, "Lack of Fire Discipline" briefly introduces some of the doom influences of the album, expanded upon later with songs like "Rupture", "Process", and the 8-minute closer "Truckloads of Ammunition". Other highlights include the memorable "Your Prime Directive" and the beastly metal romp of "Vampire Command." This album is a fuckin' armored truck full of bombs heading your way. About time for these guys to launch something new.

Cobra Noir

E agora, senhoras e senhores, uma das minhas bandas favoritas, uma das mais acarinhadas por mim, uma banda pela qual tenho bastante admiração. Infelizmente já não se encontram entre nós. A banda já se desintegrou mas não sem antes nos deixar pelo menos 2 belos e excelentes álbuns.

Fazendo uma pequena biografia da banda, Cobra Noir nasceu em Montréal, Canadá e foi formado de cinzas vindas de bandas como Ire, The Black Hand e In Dying Days. O seu som é bastante único, na altura em que descobri a banda não havia mais nenhuma, que eu conhecesse, que tivesse o som que os CN tinham, guitarras não com muita distorção mas afiadas e viciosas na mesma, a voz áspera e uma bateria passiva mas prestes a explodir a qualquer instante.. e foi precisamente isso que me cativou na banda e depressa se tornaram no meu "segredo" favorito. 

No fundo os Cobra Noir exploravam o mais amargo ângulo da música hardcore, tornando-a, ao seu estilo, torturante e vil. Talvez a melhor forma de descrever o som que a banda produzia é como se fosse um carro velho, coberto de ferrugem mas que ainda produz uma faísca e ainda anda como se fosse novo. Há um motor poderoso sob o exterior robusto e embora muitos o possam achar feio isso atribui-lhe personalidade. É feio, é sujo, é vil. Estes dois álbuns são essenciais, as músicas não apresentam um único erro e todas possuem aquele espírito niilista que lhes corria nas veias.

Abyssgale

Abyssgale são uma banda de black metal vindos da Grécia e tocam um black metal com uma veia muito punk/crust (basta ouvir a faixa "Process into the Abyss"). Este EP "The Coming Plague" de 2006 deixou muita gente a salivar por mais, talvez por ser muito curto ou porque a banda até à data não lançou mais nada. Mas acho curioso porque só quase 5 anos depois é que vim a descobrir esta banda/álbum na blogosfera.. até mesmo em sites de renome como o Cvlt Nation.. mas não interessa, o que realmente interessa é que este sem dúvida é um dos melhores EPs deste género que já ouvi. Wreck Of The Hesperus

Estes irlandeses, tal como eles dizem, vêm dos esgotos de Dublin.. e como tal praticam uma sonoridade adequada ao seu ambiente. Composto por apenas 3 temas, "The Sunken Threshold", demora no total cerca de 42minutos de um sludge arrastado, imundo e pestilento. Estes senhores já partilharam palco com nomes célebres tais como Khanate, Diocletian e Witchrist e acabaram de lançar este ano um novo álbum que se estiver à escala deste... bem lento e arrastado. Apesar de datar de 2006 este não deixa de ser um excelente álbum do género. Tal como eu gosto.
