Holy fucking shit. Think of Mind Eraser. Think of His Hero Is Gone. Think of Full of Hell. Think of Man Is the Bastard. You're getting there? Good. Godhole play fucking brutal powerviolence with some hints of black metal and crust from Edinburgh, Scotland. Perfect soundtrack to those days where everything seems to just fail... or not.

Klikk "Klikk"
Furious, deranged, nervous crust punk fueled hardcore. Klikk are a young quintent from Reykjavik, Iceland introducing this self-titled EP that contains four incendiary tracks that will please fans of bands like Trash Talk, Ceremony, Enabler, etc. This EP barely lasts less than 10 minutes but that's more than enough for us to see the amount of damage that this band can create. Another great act bursting out of the Icelandic hardcore/punk scene along with other great acts like Logn or even World Narcosis that share some members between them. Look forward to hear more from these boys. Until then... keep on shredding!

Host "Death Will Claim These Tired Bones"
Remember this band, Host, that I've talked about here on Forever Cursed back in 2012? Probably not. But it doesn't matter now. The story goes like this, Host hit the studio to record what could have been their first full-length but due to personal circumstances the band was dismantled shortly thereafter.
So, one of the ex-members of Host, Gabriel, decided to put the tracks up on Bandcamp available for download so that people could hear the album. Now you may notice that this isn't a free/pay what you want download. And it's meant to be this way for a very special cause.
Ana, a close friend of theirs suffers from a pancreatitis liver failure, and she needs all the help she and her family can get in order to be able to pay some serious medical treatments (read more here). All the money coming from the purchase of this download will go straight to help Ana. Just think if it was something close to you, a friend or someone from your family. It really touches me when I see specially such young people facing this kind of trouble. Every donation will be deeply appreciated for sure. It's more than a good cause, it's to help someone to get a decent and good life. Spread the word out, help Ana. Besides the sad news, Host are a killer band and you definitely need this.
Limited vinyl release coming soon on Cricket Cemetery.

Act of Impalement "Hyperborean Altar"
Act of Impalement are a relatively new band coming from Nashville, U.S. They play this interesting fusion of sludge, doom, crust and punk. "Hyperborean Altar" features a total of seven (very good) tracks where the band manages to balance perfectly the gloomier side of sludge/doom with the fury of punk/crust moving, even at some points, into darker territories of black metal. Their sound has a really evil and occult vibe floating around it that I like a lot. Like for example, in the opening track "Necromancer's Theme". It sounds really obscure and nefarious as the voice dwells in the midst of this filthy and foggy barrage of sludgy riffs, summoning the most evil of the necromancers. The tracks dwell from slow, to mid-paced, to fast, giving them an interesting rhythm not boring the listener at all. Act of Impalement know what they do and how to do it. Although nothing ground-breaking here, I've really enjoyed this release. It turned out a very pleasant listening from the beginning to the end. Although there are many bands out there getting into this style, I really like the most occult side of Act of Impalement, maybe there lies their secret to success? The answer lies in the future. In the meantime, check them out. Good stuff.

No Fealty "In the Shadow of the Monolith"
No Fealty are a Copenhagen based crust/hardcore band formed by current and ex-members of Hexis & Thought Police Brutality that, as they say and I quote: "We care about fast, loud, abrasive and aggressive music, politics, DIY and nice people." So when I got the email by one of the band members, Søren, I decided to take a quick listen and after immediately recognizing the cover that shows Ruben's painting of Saturn Devouring His Son, it only took one listen to the opening track and I was instantly hooked into it. Fast, pissed as hell, abrasive and powerful hardcore fueled crust is what you get here.
"Deprivation" the opening track, is literally a hand grenade that explodes in our hands. Powerful, fast and chaotic crust bridged with some slower parts where the band uses background voice samples i guess taken from a movie although i don't know which one, but that isn't the most important here. The most important is the music, and judging by the tone of this first track, these guys aren't willing to take any prisoners. The next track, "Kadavergehorsam (Do And Die)" sounds like those classic crust tracks that brings to my mind bands like Wolfbrigade or Tragedy and is a track that could've easily been made by one of these two bands. In total "In the Shadow of the Monolith", features 12 explosive tracks that mixes perfectly the viciousness of crust with the most angry side of hardcore resulting in the most savage and violent formulas within' this genre, that you can hear this year.
You get fantastic tracks like "Strict Seawater Diet", "The Emperor Is Laughing (While You Are Making Plans)" that are some of my personal favorites here and on the other hand you get these blasting short fused tracks like "Animalism", "Iron Triangle", "Savior" and the closing "Rabies God" that are short tempered and extremely explosive creating destruction wherever they pass by. No Fealty's "In the Shadow of the Monolith" introduces great lyrics, it's extremely well played, the sound is very muscled and abrasive very well wrapped in this excellent sound production.
If you're into the kind of modern crust bands like Alpinist, Masakari and Early Graves or even if you're into the real and classic crust type bands like Wolfbrigade, Deathraid, Tragedy or His Hero Is Gone then you must, you shouldn't, let this band pass you by. If you like what you hear, the least you can do is to support these youngsters. Head over to their Store and buy some of their shit. In their Bandcamp you'll find several links to several stores, just choose the one who's closer to you. Support.

Illustrations "In Vain"
Illustrations are a fresh new band coming out of San Antonio, TX. The band plays a crossover of genres that goes from hardcore to punk, from grindcore to some sludgy crust (i refuse to use the word blackened here, at this point it's more than used, right??). "In Vain" is, i guess, the debut full-length of these lads, presenting 12 tracks that will sure please the fans of the most blacken.. ops... you almost got me there. Well, if you're into bands like Carpathian, Baptists, Black Freighter just to name a few, you will get into Illustrations for sure. I really enjoyed this album and i guess it won't be long until we see Illustrations on some very well known label specialized in this kind of sound (Hello Southern Lord!). Highlights of this album? For me it's tracks like the opening "Take My Body Away ", "Never Feeling ", "Swan Song", "Leave Me" are just some of my favorite. At this point they must've run out of download credits so stream it, buy it, spread the word out, say "Hello" to them on FB.

UNRU "DEMO MMXIII"
UNRU are a raw black metal crust influenced band from Germany and this is their first Demo. And at this point i must already confess that this that you're about to hear is devastating. Sorry to lift up the veil already but i really couldn't help myself. "DEMO MMXIII" consists of 11 tracks of the most vile, vicious, bile filled blackened metal covered with layers and layers of dirty, repulsive crust.
It starts with "I" which is basically an intro to this whole mayhem we're about to witness. Along the 11 tracks there are, at least, four more sequential interludes that are named from "I" to "V". And between them? Absolute inferno. With a very DIY kind of sound, UNRU tracks are authentic bursts of (evil) energy surrounding the concepts of: Ecstasy, Dissociation, Impotence and Displacement. And maybe some other occult and unknown concepts. The black metal influence on UNRU's sound weights as much as the crust/d-beat one, conjuring a kind of sound that is very aggressive and animalistic. Nevertheless, the sound featured here is absolutely great. It has depth and a unique character of its own. Eyes on this band, UNRU are simply destructive. I totally fell into this immediately after a first audition to this amazing Demo. This demanded vinyl or even to be released in tape.
These guys will be on tour with another awesome black metal band, Sun Worship (who recently released a new EP that is awesome), so if you're in Germany check the dates and try not to miss them live.
To all the others you can stream/download as "name your price" the Demo and buy some merch here or check UNRU Facebook page here. Highly Recommended.

Agowilt "Clocks Made Of Their Own Bones"
"Clocks Made Of Their Own Bones" seems to be the first release of California based band Agowilt. Agowilt play this dark, chaotic, primitive mixture of powerviolence-meets-sludge-meets-black metal kind of sound and behind it lays a very DIY-Anarcho-Nihilist spirit. Imagine for example a crossbreed between bands like Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire, Bucket Full Of Teeth and Thou... on speed. "Clocks Made Of Their Own Bones" will be released on a one-sided LP by Human Resources Records in the very near future. One 17 minute song compromised of a noise introduction and three parts. It kills. Check it out.

Blessings "Bittervatten"
Blessings are a three piece Sweden based dark and crust hardcore with some sludge influences featuring members coming from very different bands of the swedish scene like Scraps Of Tape, Anchor, Fä and Chester Copperpot. With this Demo, the band introduces us a a very raw, stripped down, almost a kind of live captured sound. The tracks fall in a little different from the usual dark hardcore kind of bands, for example, there are some tracks like "Bittervatten" that seem to fit in a more classic registration of classic northern European acts like JR Ewing or The Spectacle and then we have tracks like "Worms of the Earth" that is quite vicious and sounds pretty much like Cursed. And there are tracks like "The Shrine" that are absolutely original from the start to the end.
What i really enjoy the most in Blessings is that this band has really a different point of view and that they are going in a different direction, dispersing themselves from the rest of the pack. The vibe expressed through their music is really great. The songs on "Bittervatten" are really original and quite fresh. A factor that really makes me want to listen to this Demo tape over and over.
There's also a loose song on Blessings Bandcamp, entitled "Black Vestals" that is really awesome. It sounds a little bit more sludgy than the tracks featured on the "Bittervatten" Demo. Here, the vocals remind me a lot of older Neurosis and the riffs are absolutely crushing. I'm really enjoying the path the band is taking. Really hope they keep it up like this. Too bad the tape is sold out but expect new stuff soon. This band slays, another great promising and original band from Europe. Check them out below.

Tsarweather "Demo"
Tsarweather are a relatively young german band introducing with their first Demo two great samples of dark, crusty, violent and extremely well-played, hardcore. Delivering two short - but powerful - rounds with the tracks "Arms" and "Quartered", Tsarweather are another great example coming out of the extreme european hardcore scene. If you're into bands like Hammers, Perth Express and Alpinist then you really must not let this band pass you by. Fast, dirty and aggressive - just the way we like it. The tracks are available at Tsarweather's Bandcamp and luckily there's also a physical copy of it, i believe, still available and i gotta tell you it looks really cool. Know more by checking their Facebook page. A great Demo by a very promising band, i really loved the sound of them. Don't sleep on this one.

Snakes "Please Just Kill Me Now"
Ahoy! I'm still going with this lack of time for posting convenient and proper posts here on FxC, so i'll leave you with a quickie one for today. One of my latest discoveries thru one of my incursions thru Bandcamp, Snakes. With "Please Just Kill Me Now" this Grand Rapids band, deliver a smashing and poisonous blend of hardcore/crust/powerviolence, and at some times some death metalish riffs à la Dismember, that will crush your skull like a peanut. Check them out below.

Split Cranium "Split Cranium"
Split Cranium is the new old-school crust punk/hardcore quartet helmed by ex-Isis mainman Aaron Turner, now of Mamiffer, and Jussi Lehtisalo of longtime Finnish shapeshifters Circle and Pharaoh Overlord. Their self-titled debut LP, out March 20 via Hydra Head, is an invigorating pile of hyperspeed riffs, d-beats, raw full-throttled vocals, and the occasionally epic noise detail. The fact of having A.Turner on this will probably sell itself to you immediately. I don't know why, but from what i've seen in other projects of this kind, i have this feeling that this won't last much, maybe they'll prove me i'm wrong. Meanwhile you can say you're the proud owner of a physical copy, buy it here.

Sküll "Demo"
Another band that I could not help noticing, in consequence of that previous band Katechon, are Sküll. Featuring 2/5 of Katechon, this band delivers some really heavy and brutal Grind/Death/Crust. These guys are also preparing a 7'' soon, so it's better for you to stay updated and follow their activity here. Sharing the same occult imagery as Katechon, this band successfully passes that dark universe to their music, making them to sound as bleak as a Francis Bacon painting. Loved the sound of this band and i hope to hear more from them really soon.

The Hunt "The Hunt" LP
The Hunt are a Hardcore/Crust/D-Beat band from Perth, Australia. They're said to be influenced by such bands as Tragedy, Fall Of Efrafa and Buried Inside. This is an "alternate"/earlier mix of their debut LP, made available for free download by their former guitarist (the final version would be re-mastered, with many of his guitar parts removed). The album is presented here as two gapless tracks, symbolizing the two sides of a vinyl LP. It is designed to be listened to as such, with the songs fading in to one and other to create a cohesive full-album experience. I've already posted the band's Demo here on FxC, but this LP sounds a hundred times much better, i had to split each side into separated files, so be sure to grab both. This heavy crust that The Hunt play is really awesome. It will be available soon on vinyl, although i can't tell you when it will come out or how you may get it, when i found out, i will drop a line in the comments of this post. Fans of the heavier and corrosive side of crust, like Masakari, Fall of Efrafa or Black Ships must give this a listen. Excellent material here. The hunt is on.. Recommended.

Sick/Tired "Sick/Tired" EP
Sick/Tired have been around some some years, and in the meantime they have made a hand full of releases. This band features members of fastcore band Mk-Ultra, and one of my favorite hardcore bands,Weekend Nachos. Sick/Tired's sound takes influences from very different kind of heavy music: Crust, Hardcore, Punk, Grind, Sludge. And the final result is this shredding ultra-heavy-violent -fueled Hardcore. Brutal. This is their latest, you can buy it on vinyl here. Meanwhile, check them out.

Tiger Lily, Sabrewulf, Host & Viduus
I feel kinda short-tempered today, so in order to avoid conflicts and shit i just put my headphones and head to my "Fuck Of And Die" Playlist on my iPod and hope for tomorrow.. so next, i bring you a handful of short fuse bands that are making my delight in this wonderful and sunny afternoon.
Tiger Lily. Curious name for a heavy band. But don't let the cuddly name and that Hello Kitty mouse pointer at their Tumblr fool you. These boys from Fresno bring in their bags some sludge mixed hardcore that culminates in some serious dark and heavy tunes. Absolutely recommended for fans of Seven Sisters Of Sleep, Baptists, Low Places and all that breed of Hardcore bands. You know the drill.. The EP is available for free at the band's Bandcamp so feel free to check them out. Also love the looks fellas... reminds me of my beloved Cobra Noir... sniff sniff.
Sabrewulf. Brought to my attention by my good friend Sanakan over at the always awesome Equivoke. Another great and promising band, delivering good, down-tuned, obscured heavy riffs. These boys from Texas are really in a good path. I'm sure it will please many of you dark hardcore fans out there.
Another good dose of poison is brought by Host, there's another killer band that shares the same name on the internet, so listen to this one also. Host are pissed hardcore band that mixes some of the heaviness of sludge with the caustic sound of crust. It's short, it's heavy, it's good.

Finally the last band featured here are Viduus. Previously known as Stay, the band changed its skin and now, under the name of Viddus, it brings us this great, epic crust in the veins of His Hero Is Gone with a little bit of a Neurosis touch. I really enjoyed this release and can't wait to hear more from these guys. Really impressive material here.

Bruxers "EP"
Bruxers are a crusty Death Metal band with some doom/sludge influences. Kinda like His Hero Is Gone meets Graves At Sea meets Ilsa, something like that... the truth is that Bruxers totally deliver with this EP, three tracks of dirty, heavy as fuck, crusty Death/Doom. I've been following the activity of these guys for quite some time in order to hear an official release. This is indeed promising. I hope that with this, Bruxers, will get on the map soon. Just remember this name.. Bruxers!

Malachi
This self titled album from crusty doomsters Malachi is one of my favorites in the genre, although it's oldie it still is quite goodie. This crust tainted doom it's just wonderful and gives me an orgasm to my ears every time i revisit it. Malachi really emphasizes on the atmospheric part with constant chugs and little known presence of actual vocals. The interchanging female and male vocals is also a nice little twist to it all. Totally crushing riffs lead into noodley guitar solos, haunting crazy cello parts lead in and out of doomy interludes and breakdowns. The sound effects make me feel like i'm a little bit more eveil just for listening to this record. Just beautiful. Fans of any crust related sludge would get a kick out of this band, in case their not familiarized with the name Malachi. If you're a fan of Oroku, Fall Of Efrafa, Grayceon, what the fuck are you waiting to get this? They have a hand full of releases really worth checking out too. A must have indeed.
Hellcrawler
Here's a killer request that dropped in my mailbox some days ago. Hellcrawler are a metallic d-beat/crust n' roll band from Slovenia and with their full length "Wastelands" they give us their own personal vision of a devastated post apocalyptical world. The album kicks i with an epic intro, from what better movie to illustrate this album? Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.. fuck yeah! So prepare yourself for fire, self made leather jackets, spikes, knives and war!! Without truces, Hellcrawler, delivers in exactly 30 minutes a vicious slab of raw crust n'roll with some interludes in the middle like "Wastelands" and the epic ending outro "Demons Within" but also some Motorhead/Venom/Doom worship in "Motosluts From Hell". In overhaul, "Wastelands" is a solid release that will certainly satisfy the hunger for those into this genre. "Wastelands" is available for free in digital format but also in a digipack cd and they're looking for someone willing to release it on wax. For any other info check them out on Hollow Earth Records or in the bands Facebook.

Höllenlärm
A blaze in the northern sky that follows the voice of blood to a blackened sea of Sabbath! Drawing influences of Doom, Black Metal and Crust Punk, Höllenlärm create a crushing soundscape that is familiar, yet fresh and intriguing at the same time. Höllenlärm consist of veterans from the Philadelphia scene, collaborating to create a highly original, unique listening experience that is "Hellish Noise". For fans of Amebix, Darkthrone, Drudkh, Eyehategod and Tragedy. Buy here.
